Amo leggere.
La mia mente cresce.
Viaggio con cuore.

Amo scrivere.
Imparate qualcosa,
Dai miei pensieri.

I miei pensieri,
cresciuti con saggezza.
Cuore beato.

L’anima grata,
la mia serenità,
la mia forza.

~ Angelica Hopes, haiku nella lingua italiana

Translations of the Italian Haiku I wrote

Living for fourteen years in the canton Ticino, the Italian speaking region in Switzerland, I have embraced the Italian language as my third acquired language, which I speak, read, and write like mother tongue with native/bilingual proficiency. My poetry book, Rhythm of a Heart, Music of a Soul,  has  17 pages Italian poems, divided into eight particular themes in life.

These are my translations of the Italian haiku I have written but it won’t count with 5 – 7 – 5 syllabic structure lines of haiku and it won’t rhyme just the way it may sweetly sound in the Italian language:

I love to read.
My mind grows.
My heart travels.

I love to write.
You learn something,
from my thoughts.

My thoughts,
grew up with wisdom,
fulfilled, joyful heart.

My grateful soul,
my serenity,
my strength.
